THE NOMAD WORKSHOP · USB-C SIMULATOR

Three elements.
How many watts?

A charger, a cable, a device.
Vary their power to understand
what limits your charge.

YOUR TURN TO TRY

What is limiting the charge?

Change one element.
Observe the ceiling of the chain.

60 Wtheoretical maximum

The cable here limits the chain to 60 W. A 100 W or 240 W cable would make it possible to aim for the 65 W accepted by this computer.

Educational wired simulation, for a single compatible USB PD device. The result is the minimum of the three ceilings, not a measurement or a guarantee of compatibility. The common voltage/current profiles, the port, the temperature, the remaining charge and the activity can reduce the actual power. Beyond 100 W, EPR must be supported by the whole chain.

THE OBJECTS OF THE GUIDE

From watts to objects.

Examples to build your gear. Check the power per port and compatibility with your device.

TO GO FURTHER

The right watts.
The right cable.

30, 65, 100 or 140 W? Find the markers to choose a power supply and understand USB-C cables.

HOW TO READ THE RESULT

A ceiling, not a stopwatch.

The simulator keeps the smallest of the three powers. The element that sets this limit appears in orange. The watts indicate a power; they do not by themselves give the charging time.

For a multi-port charger, use the power available on the port chosen in your configuration.
