The spectacle leaves the ground

On 15 October 2026, Tesla presented its new Roadster in Texas with a demonstration hard to forget. Euronews describes a climb up a curved ramp, a rotation in the air then a return to the ground, followed by a second pass above other vehicles. The project combines an electric car, a suction system under the body and thrusters borrowing from the world of SpaceX. The result looks more like an engineering stunt than an ordinary way of taking to the road.

Three names, three uses

Tesla now distinguishes Performance, Thrust and Rocket. The last, announced with a single seat and by invitation, receives cold-gas thrusters distributed around the car. The brand specifies that it is not approved for public roads. It is this boundary that makes the Roadster interesting: a manufacturer turns a science-fiction idea into a demonstration object, without the event alone establishing the capabilities or the availability of the vehicle that will be delivered. The performance claims remain to be read as the manufacturer's.
