A laboratory taking shape

With Alpenglow Hy6, Alpine gives new substance to a project that appeared in 2022. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on 14 October 2024, this evolution of the running prototype receives a twin-turbo V6 specially developed to burn hydrogen. The stated power reaches 740 horsepower. The engine also becomes a subject of design: a transparent part of the body reveals the mechanics, while the aerodynamics evolve with the performance of the demonstrator.

The research remains open

The proposition deserves a pause over its exact nature: this is an internal combustion engine fuelled by hydrogen, not a fuel cell. Alpine thus explores another path to preserve certain mechanical sensations of the sports car. The object remains a research prototype, with no promise of commercialisation in this presentation. One can appreciate its silhouette, its transparency and its technical boldness while keeping that essential distinction between demonstration and production model.
