A pickup delivered almost bare

Slate Auto starts from a simple idea: only charge for what is useful. The "Blank Slate" is a two-door, two-seat electric pickup, rear-wheel drive, advertised at 24,950 dollars in the United States. No infotainment screen: the dashboard holds a phone, a tablet or a Bluetooth speaker on mounts designed for them. The brand says it was designed in California and Michigan, and assembled in its Warsaw, Indiana factory. Its square, almost utilitarian lines stand out from the imposing pickups of the American market.

A film rather than paint

The body is designed to be dressed with an adhesive film, which you change when you feel like it. More than two hundred accessories, the vast majority under 500 dollars according to the brand, allow you to add lighting, seats or body kits, at the time of order or later. A kit transforms the pickup into a five-seat SUV, and the operation can be undone. In terms of use, Slate advertises around 330 km of range, a charging plug at the North American NACS standard, a payload of around 700 kg and a towing capacity of around 900 kg. These figures remain those of the manufacturer, before the first deliveries planned for late 2026, and the car is for now only sold in the United States.
